Alexa has very strong opinions about the Super Bowl

Ask Siri who’ll win Super Bowl LII and it’ll tell you that the New England Patriots are favored by exactly 4.5 points over the Philadelphia Eagles. Ask Cortana and Google Assistant and they’ll hedge like a weathered politician, refusing to take sides and responding instead with the game’s start time (Cortana) or the importance of being a good sport (Google). Ask Alexa, however, and you’re in for a real treat.

Telegram removed from Apple’s App Store due to ‘inappropriate content’

Apple has removed Telegram’s official app from its iOS App Store. The app disappeared yesterday, shortly after Telegram launched a rewritten Telegram X app for Android. Telegram X is currently in testing on iOS, and it was also removed from the App Store. “We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store,” says Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. “Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store.”

It’s not clear when Telegram will return to the App Store, or what inappropriate content was found on the messaging service. TechCrunch reports that Apple’s iOS guidelines make it clear there must be filters for objectionable material, mechanisms…

Watch this short Pokémon Go nature documentary narrated by Stephen Fry

Over the last few weeks, the developers at Niantic have added a new wave of creatures to Pokémon Go, along with exciting new features like dynamic, real-time weather. To celebrate, the studio just released… a short nature documentary spoof narrated by none other than Stephen Fry. The video bears an uncanny resemblance to the BBC’s Planet Earth series, except in place of powerful sharks and cute little rodents, there’s Luvdisc and Plusle. The video even includes an original score from George Fenton, who worked on both Planet Earth and Blue Planet.

Despite launching well over a year ago, Pokémon Go is still surprisingly active. Most recently Niantic added dozens of new pokémon from the Hoenn region to the game, the setting of Pokémon Ruby…
